About Yukon River

This 1,980-mile long river begins in Altin Lake in the Canadian province of British Columbia, runs through the Canadian Yukon Territory and then into the U.S. state of Alaska to empty into the Bering Sea in Wade Hampton. The Yukon River was a major thoroughfare during the Klondike Gold Rush from 1896-1903. Its Thirty-Mile section from Lake Laberge to the Teslin River is part of the Klondike Gold Rush National Historical Park. The river is only crossed by four vehicle bridges - The Lewes Bridge, The Robert Campbell Bridge and two called The Yukon River Bridge.
