The Canadian natural history and world culture museum that opened in 1914 has approximately six million items in more than 30 galleries and is visited by about one million people annually. Royal Ontario Museum's World Culture Galleries feature collections from Africa, Canada, China, Cyprus, Greece, Korea, Japan and the Middle East while its Natural History Galleries exhibits are based on birds, bats, dinosaurs, minerals, mining and gems.
