The Ottawa facility (and headquarters) of the Royal Canadian Mint produces hand-crafted collector and commemorative coins, gold bullion coins, medals and medallions. Its most recent claim to fame is the world's very first million-dollar coin, certified by Guinness World Records to be the largest coin in the world (app. 19.7 inches in diameter). The Royal Canadian Mint also produced the world's first 10-kg gold coin of 99.999% purity. Also on display at the mint are the medals from the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. After your guided tour of the state-of-the-art facilities, head to the boutique to purchase coins, gifts, souvenirs and the exclusive line of Royal Canadian Mint clothing.
