See the capital of the Azores Islands. Ponta Delgada is a port city located in a bay on the south side of Sao Miguel Island. It is home to a small university, parks, museums and many churches – including the baroque Church of Sao Sebastiao, built in 1533. The city center has three linked squares, each with its own attractions, but if you seek great views check out the outskirts of town and the harbor’s breakwater.
