See the first royal palace of modern Greece. The Old Royal Palace, completed in 1843, has been the house of the Greek Parliament since 1934, but was originally designed for King Otto of Greece and Queen Amalia. The palace is located in the heart of modern Athens and faces Syntagma Square, the hub of Athens’ public transportation and where nearly every major event in modern Greece is either celebrated or mourned.
