One of the gorgeous Balearic Islands of Spain, Menorca hosts a variety of cultures and architectures partly due to its strategic location in the Mediterranean sea. The island features megalithic tombs and monuments made by prehistoric humans and has been ruled by the Romans, Moors, British, French, and, of course, the Spanish. Today it is a UNESCO designated biological preserve to protect the wildlife of the islands wetlands and the prehistoric archaeological sites.
