About Lexington

Nicknamed "The Birthplace of American Liberty," the Massachusetts town is well-known for being the setting for the first shot of the American Revolutionary War during the Battle of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775. It was referred to as the "Shot heard 'round the world." Lexington originated in 1642 as part of Cambridge and became its own town in 1713. Points of interest are Lexington Green, Revolutionary Monument, Minute Man National Historical Park, Buckman Tavern, Munroe Tavern, Old Burying Ground and the Mullikan White Oak.
