The town of Gravenhurst is located in Ontario, Canada and is bordered on Lake Muskoka and Gull Lake. The town was originally named McCabes Bay and functioned mostly from the success of a colonized railroad in the 1850s. There are many lakes near Gravenhurst, including the Muldrew Lake, named after Dr. William Hawthorne Muldrew, the lake's second cottager. Gravenhurst is home to the Muskoka Wharf located in Lake Muskoka, which is filled with many restaurants and shops, and is also host to festivals and other community events.
