Located in the northern reaches of Cumbria, Grasmere is the lake district of England. Poet William Wordsworth called Grasmere home for 14 years. Today you can visit the Wordsworth Museum, St. Oswolds Church and the famous Grasmere Gingerbread Shop, which opened in the 1800s. There are also many pleasant walks that begin in the village’s center, including that to Helm Crag – a rocky hill with unique formations that overlooks the entire village.
