About Concord

This historic Massachusetts town was the site of the first fight in the American Revolutionary War with the Battle of Lexington and Concord on April 19, 1775. Concord was settled in 1635 when British immigrants purchased land from Native Americans. Many talented literary figured lived in the town including Ralph Waldo Emerson, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Henry David Thoreau and Louisa May Alcott. Concord attractions are Old North Bridge, The Old Manse, Concord Museum, Minute Man National Historical Park, Author's Ridge in Sleepy Hollow Cemetery, Walden Pond and Wright's Tavern.
