The staff of Glass Igloo will meet you at the designated pickup location and transport you to the the Northern Lights Village Saariselkä Resort by shuttle bus. Please get your booking confirmation and passport ready in advance.
After check-in, you could enjoy a European-style buffet dinner at the resort. For these next two nights, you will stay in this Glass Igloo!

After having a breakfast, you could experience a variety of unique snow activities in the Glass Igloo.
Tour 1: 3-hour Northern Lights Camping by the lakeside
* The Northern Lights are a natural phenomenon, and no one can guarantee with 100% certainty that you will see them. However, during the aurora season, professional guides will do their best to take you to the best spots to catch a glimpse of them! If the aurora appears, the guides will assist you with camera settings to help you capture the Northern Lights more effectively.
Tour 2: 3-hour Snowmobile Chasing for the Northern Lights
* Snowmobile drivers are required to hold a valid driver's license. According to local regulations, children under the age of 13 and those shorter than 140 cm must ride on the sled behind the snowmobile.

Can I see the Northern Lights if I stay in the Glass Igloos?
According to official statistics, during September to April each year, the Northern Lights is visible over 200 days in the area around the Glass Igloos in Saariselkä! This means the chances of seeing the aurora here are more than 80%! During your stay, you will also have two opportunities to go aurora hunting with a professional guide, who will do their best to help you find the lights.
What are the check-in and check-out time for the Glass Igloos?
Check-in time: 4:00 pm; Check-out time: 11:00 am.
Is there a Finnish sauna experience in the Glass Igloos?
There is no sauna inside the Glass Igloos, but you can book it at the resort by paying to the front desk. The sauna is located in the resort area.
How far is the Glass Igloos from Rovaniemi?
It will take about 3 hours, and there is local bus transportation.
Can I fly directly to the airport near the Glass Igloos from Helsinki?
There are daily flights from Helsinki to Ivalo Airport. You can check flight details on Finnair’s official website (Finnair.com).
Additionally:
- Frankfurt (FRA) - Ivalo (IVL): Direct flights every Thursday from November to March, with a flight time about 3 hours 30 minutes. Flight time: 10:45 am - 03:15 pm; operated by Lufthansa.
- Düsseldorf (DUS) - Ivalo (IVL): Direct flights every Saturday from December to March, with a flight time about 3 hours 20 minutes. Flight time: 10:45 am - 03:05 pm; operated by Eurowings.
For flights from the UK, it is recommended to fly to Helsinki firstly, then transfer to Ivalo Airport.
Is the Glass Igloos close to a ski resort?
The nearest ski resort, Saariselkä Ski & Sport Resort, is within walking distance. You can also get a ski bus schedule at the front desk and pay to take the shuttle to the resort. Ski equipment rental is available at the resort. - Depending on your arrival time, your hotel room may not be available until the afternoon. Most hotels allow check-in between 1:00pm-3:00pm, however some charge a fee for early check-in. Please check at the hotel desk to see if you may store your luggage at the hotel if you wish to explore the city on your own before check-in.
